School Council
At Roade Primary school believe that children should have a say in their education. We value the opinions of our pupils and our School Council gives the children a voice in the school community.
The council works with Miss Finch, but is led by the children themselves. We have 4 house captains from year 6, each with a vice captain (these are elected at the beginning of the academic year). Years 1 to 5 then have an elected school council representative from each class, who attend the regular meetings with the house captains.
It is their responsibility to share their class’s opinions and thoughts with the rest of the council; keep any important notes and report any developments back to the other children (and the teacher) in their class! The children bring with them ideas for future projects to raise money for the school or for a chosen charity.
The School Councillors are always on duty and always open to ideas and suggestions to help improve the school.
